After his police career ended, Joe took on the challenge of law school in his 40’s. During the law school application process he was asked, “why do you want to attend law school?” Joe replied, “I want to go to law school for personal development, academic challenge, and to continue contributing to society by helping people. I have a strong interest in life long learning and I am committed to making a difference in the communities I live and work in. I know from my work with the police department that the victims of crime, and the officers that serve and protect them, need legal representation. I know that the many people I observed struggling in the poverty-stricken areas of southeast Wisconsin and northwest New Mexico need a voice to guide and protect them. And I know that my dedication to challenge and personal growth would be tested and directed through the rigors of a law education.”
Joe said he received an excellent law school education at William Mitchell College of Law. He said he enjoyed the rapport with his classmates. He said many of his professors were exceptional – passionate, knowledgeable and caring, with high standards.
